About our Physiotherapy

Our Physiotherapy and sports injury clinics aim to provide excellence in treatment and support for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to help relieve pain and improve function for everyday life. Treatment may be focused on relieving pain, improving mobility or increasing strength, helping people to return to everyday physical activity, hobbies or improve performance in sport. Most of all our aim is to guide people back to leading a normal active lifestyle. We provide hands-on treatment, education and exercise-based routines, because we have a passion for helping people understand their condition and empowering them to help themselves resolve or manage their musculoskeletal problems. 

Senior Physiotherapy

  • Hands on therapy including mobilisation and Physical Therapy techniques.

  • Pre & post operative consultant referral, treatment and rehabilitation.

  • One-to-one guided exercise programmes for muscle strengthening and core and joint stability. 

  • Correcting abnormal movement patterns.

  • Sports and exercise related injury treatment and rehabilitation.

  • Treatment for age related muscular and skeletal degeneration conditions. 

  • Electrotherapy including Ultrasound and TENS.

  • Acupuncture treatment for musculoskeletal pain.

  • Sports and Mysfascial massage.

Physical therapy session

A comprehensive physiotherapy service offering a  full range of hands-on and exercise-based treatments as well as electro-therapies and acupuncture for assessment and treatment of all musculoskeletal conditions. We treat people of all ages and abilities to help relieve pain and improve function for everyday life.

Cathryn Woodall
Grad Dip Phys. MSc Sports Injury Rehab. PgCert Advanced Practice.

Cathryn Woodall is the Clinical Director and owner of Farndon and Tattenhall Physiotherapy. Hugely experienced, Cathryn qualified in Oswestry over 30 years ago and worked in the NHS as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner and a Clinical Team Lead. She has worked widely across secondary care and also primary care in GP practices. Before leaving the NHS Cathryn won awards for setting up the 'First Contact Physiotherapy' services at GP practices across Cheshire.

 

In sports, Cathryn has worked with athletes in Rugby, Climbing, Golf, Athletics and Judo, from grass-routes to elite level, and with Professional Jockeys in flat and jump racing for over 20 years.  She currently provides Physiotherapy at Chester, Bangor-on-Dee and Ludlow racecourses and is one of the two, Physiotherapy Team Leads for the British Horse-racing Authority and UK Jockey Injury Management Team.

 

As a private practitioner for over 20 years, she has established a trusted reputation among her patients and with Consultants both in private practice and the NHS. Cathryn treats people from all walks of life both young and old and has the passion and experience for treating complex musculoskeletal problems as well as sports injuries and providing specialist post-operative rehabilitation.

Jo Ruffell
BSc, (Hons). Chartered Physiotherapist. 

The newest member of our Physio Team is Jo Ruffell who runs clinics in both Tattenhall and Farndon. She is a Chartered Physiotherapist and graduated from Glyndwr University in Wrexham with a BSc (Hons). Prior to her physiotherapy training, Jo primarily worked with rehabilitation clients as a Sports Massage Therapist and is also the lead trainer for the charity ‘Critical Care Support Network’, who provide ongoing care and support to patients of intensive care and their families. In addition to her physiotherapy skills Jo brings a wealth of experience from the health and wellness industry both as an exercise professional and from within health club management. She has worked as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor for over a decade, coaching individuals and groups in strength and conditioning, core stability, and yoga (to name a few). Jo brings a wide range of expertise to the team, particularly within exercise prescription and is passionate about her role as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. 

Treatment costs and Payment options

Treatment Costs

 

Self-paying patients can pay by card. Payments range from £50-£60 for a full assessment and £45 for a follow up treatment. Assessment includes hands on treatment, if required, and lasts for around an hour. A follow-up treatment lasts 30 minutes.

Insurance Partners

The Physiotherapists at Farndon Physiotherapy are registered with most insurance companies. Contact your insurance company to check whether you have cover and for authorisation, or please contact us for information.
